Graphic Novel Review – The Runaways
At first I was not too attracted toward this story. It had too much of a manga feel to it, and I don’t care for that particular style. The only thing that kept my interest was the writer, whom I have reviewed a few times. Bryan K. Vaughan, together with Adrian Alphona, got this story of Runaways going for Marvel Comics. Read more…
TILT Music Blog – Tony Christie (Made In Scheffield – 2008)
A casualty of destiny got the music of this artist right on my lap. One of those invites that one tends to ignore on the myspace social network, only this time I just went ahead and listened to Tony Christie’s music. I must say it’s been a while since I’ve heard something like this without looking for it. Read more…
TILT Music Blog – Faded Paper Figures
It’s been a while since I’ve come across a group that makes me want to write about them. I keep looking but either I’m getting pickier or there is nothing out there impressing me. Graphic Novel Review – The Watchmen
The graphic novel world has a variety of subjects for one to read. Most of them are easy reads that combine a quick story with some nice graphics. Still, as a new person entering the graphic novel world, I feel compelled to share what I’ve absorbed from this work. Read more…
Graphic Novel Review – The Hood
After having read a few dozen graphic novels this past year, I’ve started to track previous works of the writers I’ve liked so far. That’s how I came across The Hood. Written by the creator of Y: The Last Man, Bryan K. Vaughan, this story brings us the perspective of a villain and his inner demons and who he really is; yet that might be more rethorical than anything else. Read more…
Graphic Novel Review – Pride Of Baghdad
As I’ve explained before, I don’t consider myself a conoceur of graphic novels, being that I’ve only been reading them on a regular basis for less than a year. Yet, I have been lucky enough to get a good vibe from briefs and summaries of the stories and so far, most of my selections have been good ones. The latest one I’ve read, was one created by Bryan K Vaughan, the guy that made Y: The Last Man. That was good enough for me to give it a try. So I bought Pride of Baghdad, without having a clue what it was about. Read more…
