TILT Music Blog – Tony Christie (Made In Scheffield – 2008)

November 11, 2008 3 comments

A casualty of destiny got the music of this artist right on my lap.  One of those invites that one tends to ignore on the myspace social network, only this time I just went ahead and listened to Tony Christie’s music.  I must say it’s been a while since I’ve heard something like this without looking for it. TILT Music Blog – Aerogramme

August 13, 2008 1 comment

Like many times before, I hear about artists before I actually hear them…if that makes any sense.  I’ve always said you listen to a group when it is the time to do it.  Enter Aerogramme to the picture.  The first time I heard of them I think it was January.  A friend from Spain told me I had to hear their latest music which as it turns out is a big shift from their previous material which was a bit less mellow and less melancholic.  Read more…

Discografía – La Mancha Del Jardín

July 30, 2008 5 comments

Read more…

TILT Music Blog – Sr. Chinarro

I’ve known of Sr. Chinarro for a while now. They have always fallen in my category of good spanish indie, second to Los Planetas, but always had a problem with their albums. After a while, the thing that I like about them (the low pitch voice and lineal arrangements) got to me, and I grew tired. So although I continued to acknowledge how good they were, I could not listen to a whole album in one try.  Fasf forward a few years and the group comes charging again. Read more…

TILT Music Blog – Change of Name and recap so far…

October 26, 2007 1 comment

This is a recap of all the entries made so far on the Music To Listen To Blog and an official change of name for the blog.  From now on the blog will be called T.I.L.T. (Tunes I Listen To).  Why the change? Well TILT sounds better than MTLT and let’s be honest it’s more what I listen to and share with you than any other thing.  So TILT is born and a possible migration to blogger is being considered.  I like this blog in myspace because I have access to a lot of people right here, but in all honesty this blog format sucks ass.  Unless myspace does something about it soon, TILT might be outta here.  I would continue to update this blog but with links to the new entries in the new blog.

In any case here’s a list of bands I’ve listened to in the almost year I’ve done this and that I’ve recommended and got some nice feedback from a few people.  Hopefully this will continue.  Read more…

TILT Music Blog – The Organ

October 24, 2007 Leave a comment

A few days off, nothing on the scenery that actually made me write about it.  Then came across this canadian group called The Organ.  An all female ensamble that replenishes that void left from 80’s acts such as The Smiths, The Cure, Sioxsie, etc.  Also they tend to remind me, mostly for the vocals and the melodies, to Rainer Maria.  Read more…

TILT Music Blog – Unicorn Dream Attack

September 18, 2007 Leave a comment

Probably when you hear the word revival you don’t think of this kind of music, but that’s pretty much what this is.  Unicorn Dream Attack is one of this bands that are reviving what I like to call the nintendotronic sound.  You can call them IDM, electro, but the 8bit sound it’s reminescent of those old video games we used to play.  And while some people would hear them and go “what the heck is that”, a bunch of people (including me) are going “that is sweet”.  Read more…
