I can start this entry with a very corny dictionary definition of what electability is, but what fun would that be? That has been the key word dragged around the democratic elections for a bit. Some claim they have it, others crave it, others protest when told they lack it. But what in the hell is it that they are talking about?
If you follow the news, it seems to mean that to have electability is equal to being able to win the purple states, best known for having overdoses of blue collar workers. Yes blue collars, as in Jeff Foxworthy and such (aka unfunny comedians). We non politically correct people tend to call them rednecks, but I’ve learned is wrong to call them that. Mostly because rednecks tend to be in the south and blue collars also live in the north, so from now on I will make this distinction.
So, the argument people are making, basing their documentation on past elections, is that no one has won the elections without the key states that inclue Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. This states are mostly occupied by non-college graduates, blue collar workers, who Obama so candidly categorized them as “clingy people“. Senator Clinton, has had the upper hand in this democratic primary in that sense, because white people love her. And not only because she’s white, but because she can lie like no other can. Well, that’s a lie too, she can lie like anybody else in Washington can. It’s a special seminar for first term senators.
She claims that it does not matter that she is behind in elected delegates, and on the popular vote, and on the amount of states won in primaries and most recently behind in superdelegates (by close to 20 in a matter of days). It does not matter because she is electable in the states that count. In other words, rest of the United States you are worthless because you are predictable, but the unpredictable are worth more so I love them and you not so much. Of course I’m parafrasing but you probably can hardly tell the difference between what I said and her constant nagging of why she is electable and he’s…not so much.
Of course he has his own problems, for example being so inconsistent. I mean it’s ironic he’s from Chicago, because he reminds me of the Bulls in 89′, when they would win a big game to an incredible opponent, and loose the next game to the last team on the Wins list. Sure they got better, and I’m sure he will too, but that does not mean he’s not electable…or does it?
We can go to the so called “exit polls” (aka post-vote bullshit) that tells us that most of her people (the electable makers) would not vote for him, and the press likes making a big fuzz as to how he pretends to win without them. Well I’ll tell you how…by not playing the same fucking game everyone else is playing.
This is an unprecedented election, and I’ve mentiond that before, and you probably have heard that enough from all the news channels. If I’m not mistaken, unprecedented means there is no history to compare it to, therefore this electability bullshit is worthless, because there is no way (and please pardon my expression…or don’t) a Black man is going to win in Redn…blue collar country all by himself. We are talking about the middle of the country that probably don’t even know who Rosa Parks is (or don’t care). To see this man running, will scare the shit out of them (see that movie with Chris Rock I’ve mentioned before).
So does that mean he will loose the election? No. He will win, by creating new purple states, by bringing a message that even though could be consider a little “Food Club” (generic?), it still sounds a lot better than what we hear from everyone else. He could make some noise in the south, he could make a lot of noise in the Nevada, Colorado area and he will win the big coast states such as California and New York.
As if that wasn’t enough, right after Hillary kicked Obama’s ass in West Virginia with a 40+ beating, and her making a big deal of it (even though she only got like 19 delegates out of it) he got a secret weapon. You know what they say…if you can’t beat them…go get yourself a white boy that appeals to the electable bunch and win the fucking thing both the old way and your own way.
And that’s electability in my opinion…making your opponents big day look like small potatoes.
